Governance

Cornwall Care is governed by a Board of Trustees (some are pictured below) who collectively have a wealth of experience, knowledge and interests. Our Board ensures that we are appropriately conducting our business and demonstrating the quality of our care. Lead by Chairman Dr Alan Stanhope, there are a total of eleven Non Executive Board Members. Our Chief Executive, Director of Finance and Director of Operations and Quality represent the Executive Board Members.  The Board meets at least 6 times a year as a whole and in between times there are various committee meetings relating to specific areas of our business, for example Care Quality and Finance.  Working alongside the Chairman, our Non Executive Trustees are; Mandy Milano, Jane Leishman, Deborah Clark, Margaret Schwarz, Tim Bacon, David Brewer, Ian Pawley, John Sherlock, Mike Lake and Chris Yates.

Senior Management Team - The SMT is made up of each head of Department within Cornwall Care's Head Office. Working together to identify and implement strategic policies, initiatives, aims and ambitions, the SMT consists of:

Douglas Webb - Chief Executive - Douglas joined Cornwall Care as its Chief Executive in 2003. A trained nurse with experience in the NHS, BUPA and not for profit organisations, Douglas leads the company strategically to achieve the goals and objectives set out in the company's current busines plan.

Tracie North - Director of Operations and Quality - Tracie adopted the role of Director of Operations and Quality during 2005. Formerly a midwife, Tracie's previous roles include leading infection control locally within the NHS. Tracie oversees all of the organisation's services and works alongside her team and the Care Quality Assurance Committee to ensure and inform the high quality of the care we deliver.

Angie Cavanagh - Head of HR - Leading the Human Resources aspect of Cornwall Care, Angie is responsible for ensuring the implementation of HR policies, procedures and legislation.  Angie provides support and information relating to recruitment, grievances and disciplinaries. As a result, she holds up to date information on relevant government initiatives and employment law.  Angie joined Cornwall Care during 2005 and has worked in various departments within the company.

William John - Head of Property - Will was appointed as Head of Property during 2008. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's property portfolio and has a specific role in the development of our new builds. Supported by the Property Team, Will is a Chartered Surveyor with experience and knowledge of the property industry.
